The Organising Committee of the 2018 Australian Coastal Councils Conference is inviting abstracts to be submitted for papers to be presented at the Conference, which is to be held at Geelong, Victoria, from 21 to 23 March, 2018. The Committee is seeking papers on coastal themes including but not limited to the following topics:
- Coastal Planning and Management
- Economic Development Strategies in Coastal Regions
- Responding to the rapid growth in listings on short-term holiday rental platforms
- Sustainable Coastal Development
- Tourism in Australia’s Coastal Regions
- Coastal policy.
The deadline for submitting Abstracts is close of business, Friday, 16 February 2018.
The annual Conference is a highlight of the year for representatives of Australia’s coastal councils, policy makers, researchers and others with a stake in the future of the Australian coast and its communities. Each year it attracts delegates from coastal councils, research organisations, industry and policy makers from all Australian states.

Friday 16 February 2018 – Deadline for abstract submissions for concurrent sessions
Friday 23 February 2018 – Notification of acceptance of papers for concurrent sessions
Friday 9 March 2018 – Deadline for payment of registration for presenters
Abstracts of no more than 400 words of text (not including the requirements below) will be considered by the Organising Committee for inclusion in the Conference concurrent sessions and should include:

Organisation of author
Email address of author
Mobile number of author (not for publication)
The above information for other co-authors
If appropriate, please also include:
Brief summary of the significance and implications of this subject to coastal Australia
Proposals for future research and/or actions.
Accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference Report.
