The Organising Committee of the 2019 Australian Coastal Councils Conference is inviting abstracts to be submitted for papers to be presented at the Conference, which is to be held at Kiama, on the NSW south coast, from 6 to 8 March 2019.

The Committee is inviting papers on coastal themes including but not limited to the following topics:

  • Coastal Planning and Management
  • Economic Development Strategies
  • Issues affecting visitor accommodation options
  • Coastal policy
  • Tourism in Australia’s Coastal Regions
  • Sustainable Coastal Development

Please note – presenters are offered discounted registration fees.

Important dates

  • Deadline for submitting abstracts – Friday 7 December 2018
  • Notification of acceptance of papers – Tuesday 18 December 2018
  • Presenter registration and payment – Friday 1 February 2019

Abstract Guidelines

Abstracts of no more than 400 words of text (not including the requirements below) will be considered by the Organising Committee for inclusion in the Conference concurrent sessions and should include:

  • Family name of author
  • First name of author
  • Position of author
  • Organisation of author
  • Email address of author
  • Mobile number of author (not for publication)
  • The above information for other co-authors
  • Subject

If appropriate, please also include:

  • Brief summary of the significance and implications of this subject to coastal Australia
    References
  • Proposals for future research and/or actions.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference Report.

Abstracts should be in Word format and emailed, marked to the attention of the Organizing Committee to: info@coastalcouncils.org.au

Association Chair Barry Sammels said the organizing committee would also welcome suggestions for keynote topics to be presented at the conference. “Our aim is to develop a conference program that closely reflects the interests of our delegates,” he said.
